As an avid accessories lover, sun and eyeglasses are one of the ways that I like to turn a look from drab to fab. While rocking an awesome pair of specs speaks confidence about your style; they do serve a more practical purpose too. They protect from harmful UV rays. They protect from debris. They remove excess glare. They save you from eyestrain which can cause unwanted headaches and ultimately help improve overall vision. But who really cares about these secondary benefits right? LOL. We’re here to talk about fashion. All of these benefits are great but finding the right pair of frames for your particular shape of face is key. I’ve put together a guide on the different types of frames that work best for your shape of face. I have an oval shape face and although the pros over at LensCrafters suggest that I can rock any style frame…I stick to rocking aviators (my favorite) and round frames. I envy you round face Divas who can sport a fabulous cat eye frame. I love the sunglasses selection over at ZeroUV. They average around $9.99 in price. You can’t go wrong with a fabulous pair of sunnies at that price point.Check ’em out.
A heart-shaped face is characterized by a wide forehead, narrower jaw line, high cheekbones, and a narrow chin, according to the pros at LensCrafters. Best Frames: Cat Eye
An oblong face is characterized by a long face, narrow chin and cheeks. Best Frames: Oversize
An oval-shaped face is the easiest one to find shades for. It’s characterized by balanced proportions, a narrow forehead and jaw line, a chin that is slightly narrower than the forehead, and typically high cheekbones. Best Frames: Any Style.
According to the pros at LensCrafters, a round face has an equal width and length, and is characterized by soft curves with few angles, if any. Best Frames: Wide, Rectangular, Gladiators
A square-shaped face is usually proportional in length and width. It’s characterized by a defined jaw, square chin, and a broad forehead. Best Frames: Round, Oval and Cat Eye
