I love color. It’s the Caribbean, Floridian and New Yorker in me. If it doesn’t have some shade of orange, purple, yellow or red—-more than likely it’s not going to grab my attention. Color is a figment of my personality, my lifestyle and sense of being. I mean….it puts the “Be Bold” in Be Bold. Be Fabulous. Be You! My home decor and interior walls are pretty bright and colorful. I find that if you are surrounded in brightness, it brings a positive energy that radiates to those around you. Someone once asked me how to start out incorporating color into their wardrobe since they have always basically stuck to neutral tones. I say start in the home by finding a few of your favorite things (furniture, accents, walls, etc) that are colorful. Then use these favorite items as a guide to start incorporating color in to your wardrobe. If the thought or stepping out of your comfort zone still makes you a little uneasy—then start out smaller with accessories. Maybe try color nail polish for a start (this too is an accessory). Or maybe a new lipstick color. Or even a colorful statement necklace (which every fashionista should have by the way).
My General Rule: If wearing three or more colors together, for a more cohesive look—repeat one color within the look.
