I hope that all is well and you all are in good spirits. I’ve been
trying my best to squeeze in some much needed sewing but with
motherhood, my corporate gig, wife duties and all else—it has taken a
back seat. So when I do find time, it’s an easy-breezy mindless project that
isn’t too complex for the sake of time. I managed to make this top
recently using a cool vintage pattern—McCall’s 4291. I purchased this fabric from Michael Levine fabrics in LA three years ago. I used cotton as
my fabric choice (I fell in love with this fabric instantly) to keep the flare in the sleeves. I modified the neckline from the original scoop neck, to this slightly modified version.
I’m so not a fan of scoop necks unless it is in the form of a t-shirt. I plan on wearing the waistband separately in the future maybe as a pussy bow or necktie. The French wording printed on the fabric was so unique that I wanted to make sure that whatever I constructed captured the essence of the print. Up next on the sewing table. . . . . black and white leopard print romper. Stay tuned.
