Intarsia, according to wikipedia is a knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colors. As with the woodworking technique of the same name, fields of different colors and materials appear to be inlaid in one another, but are in fact all separate pieces, fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Ok, sure… intarsia sweaters are not really a “new” trend. But you can certainly say that they’ve become increasingly popular over the last three years. You have probably seen your share of black and white ones with either a graphic object or a word aligned within the center. Yes my friend, these are all intarsia sweaters. I’ve been a fan of the skillfully knitted sweaters for some time. I’ve been in search for a particular black and white one and since fall is here again, I’m hoping I will be able to score a fabulous one.
Most of you will probably have the opportunity to pull out your sweaters long before the Florida weather affords me the chance.
