It’s very rear that I find a luxury and/or couture designer whose style and design aesthetic align with mine. But when I discovered Ronald van der Kemp, the Dutch designer whose effortless ability to fuse modern vintage perfectly from a demi-couture and ready-to-wear perspective—I became an instant fan. From the peplums, ruffles and defined waistlines: van der Kemp seemingly loves what he does and it shows. Asked to describe his style is three words, he said—“free-spirited, sentimental and quirky.” Rightfully so. I’m so here for the clean lines, the Japanese origami flair and his masterful construction. Who is the van der Kemp woman? He says, “I am trying to reach the customer that desires a more personal, discrete and unique luxury: women with a fashion personality that like real and beautiful clothes with a soul, for all budgets.”
So, what’s your take on this designer? Slay or nay?
