I spent some time in San Diego a few weeks ago and had the pleasure of dining at an amazing local restaurant. Bottega Americano, an Italian fine dining experience nestled in the chic and trendy community of East Village. I instantly fell in love with this place. The eatery says, “Our unique concept combines the classic taste and style of Italian cuisine with the innovation, energy and freshness of California to create a “classically new” dining experience for America.” The menu was full of swoon-worthy Italian favorites like salumeria with Italian meats and cheeses, a pescaria with oysters and crudo, wood-fired oven pizza and a variety of pasta dishes that would put your local Maggiano’s Little Italy to shame (no offense). Oh and did I mention the dessert menu? Ok, are you ready? Limoncello panna cotta, chocolate hazelnut mousse torte, macaroons, and the oh so tasty peach carpaccio. I had the pleasure to shop the epicurean style marketplace for takeout, gourmet ingredients and a curated selection of fabulous gifts—many to which comes from local shops or imported from around the globe. It was an amazing experience to say the least. If you happen to be in the downtown district of San Diego, I highly recommend that you check out this fine eatery. You will not be disappointed. Buon Appetito!
