Fab Travel: Marriott Frenchman’s Reef

Ok----Confession session. I do lots of traveling. Ready for the confession part? I'm also a hotel snob. An unapologetic one. That's right. I have high standards for where I lay my head at night. After all, no one wants travel accommodations sub-par to everyday living. Surely I don't. When I traveled to St. Thomas this summer with the family---we decided to go the resort route. Dear Dark Skinned Women

Tar-baby, blackie and midnight were just a few chosen words used to hurl insults my way as a young girl growing up. But it really wasn't until I moved from the islands to the Bronx in the late 80s that my deep copper pigmented skin became the main subject of what we know to hold true of colorism.
