Walk This Way: Fashion with a Cause

I posted a few weeks ago about a fashion event that I would be attending Martin Luther King, Jr holiday weekend. The event was a Walk This Way Productions event which is spearheaded by Angela and LaWanda Bailey, two fabulous sisters whom I have great respect and admiration for. The dynamic duo celebrated their 15 year milestone in the business. But the beauty of these fabulous ladies struts far beyond the catwalk. The ladies mentor and give back to the young men and women of the community through their Urban Reflections, Inc., non-profit organization. DIY Luxe Wrap Cardigan

Happy Monday lovies. I purchased this luxe wool acrylic blend fabric at $25 a yard (yeah, it was pretty pricey) while in Chicago last fall. I could remember just how gorgeous it was as first sight. It was right around the time that I was just getting my feet wet sewing serious garments, and boy was I terrified to spend that kind of money for a fabric not really knowing what the outcome would be. Fab Fashionista: Ataui Deng for Marie Claire France

Supermodel Ataui Deng recently collaborated with Marie Claire France for their Janvier 2014 editorial feature. The South Sundanese Model rocked a few gorgeous pieces hailing from powerhouse designers like Chanel and Gucci. The beautiful model let it all out during the "Funky Star" shoot, resulting in nothing short of mere perfection.
