Fab Travel: Marriott Frenchman’s Reef

Ok----Confession session. I do lots of traveling. Ready for the confession part? I'm also a hotel snob. An unapologetic one. That's right. I have high standards for where I lay my head at night. After all, no one wants travel accommodations sub-par to everyday living. Surely I don't. When I traveled to St. Thomas this summer with the family---we decided to go the resort route. You never know when you'll get the urge to just stay in---and in that case, you'll need all the amenities at your fingertips. Overlooking Morningstar Bay on the Caribbean coast, this Marriott Frenchman's Reef property met all of my required C's: Cost, Class and Comfort. And the daily complimentary rum punch? Yah Mon! We had air...

Fab Travel: US Virgin Islands

Hey Beauties, I'm back and rejuvenated from a much needed vacation with the family. I can't tell you guys just how much stepping away from everyday life can do for the mind, body and spirit. We flew in to St. Thomas for the week, hung out on the island and hopped to a some nearby islands for some cross-island adventure. This was an emotional trip for me on so many levels. Some of you may already know that I spent some years growing up on the island as a young girl before moving to New York. What’s Inside My Carry-on Bag

With summer in full effect, many of us will be taking to the airports to indulge in a little R&R. Traveling can be such a pain sometimes. As someone who does it at least once a month---it's just not all that fun as it use to be. With airlines nickel and diming customers, security threats, delays and long lines---I try to alleviate much of the hassle as much as possible. Today I'm sharing my absolute must-have carry-on items that I absolutely can't travel without. From my travel blanket, cross-body bag, bottled water, music and hand lotion-- I've got to have them in my carry-on otherwise I'll be traveling in discomfort. I admit----I'm sort of a travel snob. LOL. So what...

Foodie Favorite | Américas . Houston TX

One of the great things about traveling is having the ability to dine at some of the best restaurants and eateries in the world. I had the pleasure to make a stop in Houston, Texas recently and stopped in at a local South American restaurant--Américas. Part of the Cordúa group of restaurants--Américas is nestled in a strip in the upscale and trendy River Oaks neighborhood in Houston. While not having a clue of what to expect upon arrival, once I stepped foot into the warm, cozy and eclectic establishment---I immediately got a reassuring sense that I had made a great choice. I was greeted promptly by a waiter who provided a brief tour of the restaurant, then escorted...

Foodie Favorite | Southern Art, Atlanta GA

I had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental hotel in Buckhead---a trendy and commercial district of Atlanta, Georgia when I visited the city a few weeks ago. It was my first time staying at an Intercontinental property so I was curious as to the level of service I would receive. One of the important aspects to selecting a hotel next to cleanliness and quality of service are the amenities. As a full service luxury hotel, I expected the hotel to have a good restaurant on the premises and boy was I in for a surprise. Southern Art, the hotel's onsite restaurant offers southern cuisine with a farm-to-table modern touch. Spearheaded by highly acclaimed chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Art...
